Botafogo is one of the most charming neighborhoods in Rio de Janeiro. ALPHA HOSTEL is also a step away from the seashore of Botafogo Beach and beautiful Flamengo Park, and a block away from a subway station that would take you fastly to many points of interest in Rio, such as Copacabana and Rio Downtown. Several bus lines, at a three minute walking distance, would take you to every other part of the city that you might want to visit, such as the beaches of Ipanema, Leblon, Barra and Recreio, or the picturesque Feira de São Cristóvão and the bohemian Lapa.

    I have stayed and worked with many hotels/hostels in America, Ireland, Spain and England. And I can honestly say that Alpha Hostel is one of the best. My trip to Rio de Janeiro was a nightmare (It is a long story involving an ex-girlfriend). The saving grace of my trip however, was the friendly staff at Alpha. Everyone was more than willing to help me with my problems and offer advice about anything that was on my mind. Their recommendations for local restaurants and discos were very good too. I am not sure if I will go back to Rio de Janeiro. But if I do, I am definitely staying at Alpha Hostel.
