Airport Transfers
Traveling from Nearby Airports to Nikko Matsubara no Yado
Reaching Nikko Matsubara no Yado from nearby airports is a breeze, making it an ideal destination for both domestic and international travelers. The closest major airport is Narita International Airport (NRT), located about 150 kilometers away from Nikko. From Narita, you can take the Narita Express train to Tokyo Station, which takes approximately one hour. Once at Tokyo Station, transfer to the JR Tohoku Shinkansen (bullet train) heading towards Utsunomiya. The journey on the Shinkansen takes about 50 minutes, and from Utsunomiya, you can hop on the JR Nikko Line, which will take you directly to Nikko Station in about 45 minutes. Upon arrival at Nikko Station, it’s just a short walk or a quick taxi ride to the serene and welcoming Nikko Matsubara no Yado. Alternatively, if you land at Haneda Airport (HND), the trip is also convenient. From Haneda, take the Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho Station, and then transfer to the JR Yamanote Line to reach Tokyo Station. The rest of the journey follows the same route as from Narita, taking the Shinkansen to Utsunomiya and then the local train to Nikko. The entire trip from Haneda Airport to Nikko Matsubara no Yado typically takes around 2. 5 to 3 hours, depending on transfer times.
