Mapamundo is a different Guesthouse. Our concept is simple, but not simple to find in Barcelona. \n\nA grand apartment in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona, with large rooms but few people.     The bed room was very hot. There were non curtains and there is a lot of noise from the street. 'Fortunately', they supplied free ear plugs. They also supply free cooled water. The shower gets hot and cold and there is no hook to hang the showerhead. Most of the walls and floors are unfinished or broken.

    Dont be scared when you walk into the building. Overall it is very nice, however no tv or pillows was a bit of a downfall! Had to wear shoes in the shower as the floor was extremely dirty. Kitchen was clean. Hostel is situated in a wreckage site which smells. Good for locati

    OK location but not super close to Metro. No lift - all walk-up in a crappy old building. rooms themselves are fine. only one bathroom. Staff very helpful though. Internet unreliable.

    We were staying in Mapamundo for 2 weeks and we had really great time there! The flat has everything you need, we had big room with nice bad and little balcony. There is kitchen if you going to cook, the fridge cutlery and all sorts. We saved so much money because we were buying food in supermarcets and cooked! The only thing was that there is no washing machine and if you stay for longer time you may use laundery very close around the area and cheep. The situation is amazing its close to the beach, there are many cool shops around and I had realy great time shopping! many bars and restaurants, beautiful arcitecture! But it can be very loud at night because Barcelona never sleeps and people are screaming downstairs in the street non stop. Staff is very helpful and nice! they do everything for you to enjoy your stay. We had wonderful time there and it was aready like home for us)

    It is a great place to stay in the Gothic area of Barcelona. Whole centre of Barcelona with all stores and coffee bars you can walk through just from the doors of hostel. Balcony is going out on a narrow Barcelona old town's authentic street. We've found a lot of bars around hostel. But if you are going to have fun after 3:00 you've got to go to more crowded places. \nSeafront with numbereless restaurants is just in 15 minutes from hostel. \nThe minus is only in shower, it's a little careless, but that's really not a big problem. \n

    VERY VERY nice and hospitable!! Cute place with balconies. They have a full kitchen, big refrigerator, FREE WIFI, and free water!! Wish we would have stayed here more nights! Highly Recommend!

    Highly Recommend this place, its a real taste of what it would be like to live in the Barrio Gothico. There is some noise at night but hey your in Barcelona!! I actually found the street noise kind of soothing! Jandro is a great human and made us feel very welcome.

    We recommand this excellent place to stay, in the middle of the gothic center of Barcelona, with the typical little streets, bars and restaurants. The room was clean and tidy, we felt like being "home", as the room is in an appartement. \nThe staff is very friendly and welcoming, and will explain to you everything you want to know about Barcelona when you arrive. \n \nWe would go back there for the next trip to Barcelona! \n \n

    The location was great if you want to go out at night or go to the beach. close to metro and in the center of old town there are tons of restaurants and areas to hang out. The place is a guesthouse so a much quieter sleeping arrangement which was nice.

    I can only say good things about the hostel, the staff is nice and helpful (regards to guy that told us some about Barcelona, explained what can we see there), the atmosphere was fantastic and it's in the heart of the city, 5 min from La Rambla and very close to metro which takes you directly to the beach.     Great place to stay, 6 blocks from Las Ramblas and a Metro Station. The rooms are really clean, the kitchen and the common area are nice. The only problem is that it only have one bathroom for 4 rooms, but over all is was excellent, 100% recommended

    In Mapa Mundo you can feel the wonderful atmosphere of the very center of Barcelona. The hostel staff was very friendly and helpful.It was a little loudy at nights as there are a few pubs in the same street, but if you like to party, it's a great place for you.

    It was a wonderful surprise to find that we had booked not simply a regular hostel but a shared apartment. Really comfortable, such a fantastic location and friendly staff with so much good advice and guidance. Such good value for money, it was a real joy to stay there in the heart of Barcelona!
