receptionist was talking to somebody loudly at the reception desk at 5 o'clock at the morning
Very good location, staff very kind and helpful. Good value for money.
Just yards from the city centre and therefore very easily accessed. No lift but not really a problem. A very modern bathroom but a bit dingy and poorly lit stairs, corridors and the room itself. The room had no table and only one chair but the double bed was comfortable. Bed sheets and towels were replaced daily by the friendly cleaning staff. Nearest parking - Restauradores underground - is expensive. Cars ok on the street from 19.00 till 08.00
Good value for your money. A good place to rest after a whole day enjoying Lisbon, though it can be too quiet for people travelling alone
Great location, the room was too cold,I don't recommend the hostel to a family...ok for couples or single.
The pension is in good position but it is very noisy, not so nice, there is a bad smell inside and the staff ask for money as soon as you arrive. Never come back there.
The best thing about the pensao is the great lokation close to Bairo Alto and Baixa. The rooms are VERY simple and the building is very old. You get what you pay for.. very cheap! The people there are very nice but not all can talk english.
My second time in this pensao. I recommended it also to my friends. Excellent position! Great staff. Only disadvantage is the noise on the street in front at prox. 04.30 AM of the trash-car & -men emptying the trash-containers of the neighbour hotel Swiss.
The hostel/pension is right in the heart of Lisbon and for 30 Euros a night this is a bargain. As far as cleanliness is concerned, it could be better. Staff knew me as soon as I told them my name and there was great atmosphere all around.
I love the Pensao Monumental. Having stayed there twice they have improved, but either way, you cannot improve the location and facilities. Just take a plug for the bath, aside from that, staff lovely and quiet, clean and comfortable room.
First night in a very little room at ground floor with window on the street; very noisy. After room changing request, 2nd and 3rd night in an honest room. Dark, old, but with honest staff and excellent position.
