Info & Description

Located in the city center Reykjavík Backpackers is a hostel and a travel hub designed to offer everything the traveler might need in Iceland.

The hostel is located on Laugavegur, which is the main shopping street, and is only a 15 minutes walk from the main bus station. The downtown area offers most of Reykjavik‘s finest museums, cafes, restaurants, bars and clubs. Airport transfer is available directly to Reykjavik Backpackers and all tour pick ups are just outside out building!

The hostel has a private backyard and balconies open for our guests, breakfast area, café and bar with free WIFI and internet for guests. Our common areas are also a great way to meet fellow travelers and each night we organize events open for everyone to join!

We are affiliated with Iceland's longest running adventure company, Arctic Adventures, and all of our guests can choose from great offers on their tours. Our staff can provide expert information on what to do, see and experience during your stay and will gladly arrange some activities for our guests. Each week the hostel staff will organize an activity in which everyone can join and together we‘ll head out for an adventure.

Practical info:
We provide your guests with 24-hour check in and service and free internet access. The hostel doesn‘t lock up for those arriving late, but it is not allowed to disturb other guests between 10 pm and 8 am. All the beds have clean sheets and a pillow. Duvet and bed linen can be provided, but are not included in the price. Guests can also rent towels for their stay.

    This place is good for backpackers. cheap and good.

    The hostel is well situated in the city center but this is exactly why it is so noisy! Our dorm was on the main street next to a dancing pub, and where drunk people roam all night long. So if you are looking for a quiet place to stay this is not the place to be! Also, be aware that many international flights land at keflavik in the middle of the night. So if there are free beds in your dorm when you go to bed, this will likely mean that you will be woken up by your new room mates at 2 or 3 am!

    very good location. Supermarket, tourist centre, pharmacy, shops are just next door. Staff are nice and helpful. I booked the room of a reasonable price (that is a 8 mixed)early maybe at around 2 months before. the common areas are comfy. Pubs are everywhere down the street so it would be quite noisy at night. but I'm ok with that. I will definitely pick this hostel again when I visit reykjavik next time.

    It is in a very good place if you want to go out at night, but if you want to rest during he weekend it's not so good. The rooms and kitchen are very small, but all is very clean.
