Absolute Hostel - Budapest, Hungary

The staff here were totally fantastic, with excellent resources and where always so enthusiastic to help. The hostel is in a perfect location and near some great eateries, bars and clubs. very very very recommended

All marks are for THE LOFT hostel, since Absolute cancelled the whole reservation instead of the first night as I asked. Was nice to find it out at 9h in the evening, well... Actually seemed to be a flat in a residential house and you probably should go somewhere else when you arrive. I definitely recommend THE LOFT, it's really cool, very cosy and homy, great atmosphere and staff, excellent location in Vaci utca (better than Absolute), kitchen (!!!), stable Internet, 24h reception. Just perfect. You'll love it. Price is 10-12 euro. Absolute's manager said it's cheaper than theirs, which's somewhat funny since I've reserved 5euro/night...

When we got to the hostel, our host took us to another building where we were given an empty apartment all for ourselves, which was a new experience to us. We had the place all to ourselves and were asked to just throw the key through a little window in the front door upon leaving and locking up the place three days later. The building is right in the center of the Jewish quarter of Pest, only 50 meters from the Basilica, so we could do all our visiting on foot. The only important thing that was lacking in the kitchen was a frying pan, so we had to buy one. TV was hard to watch (bad reception) and only featured two Hungarian channels, so we could not really have fun doing so, but we just spent our time outside in the city and used the apartment to eat and sleep.

We stayed in a private room on Karoly Str.,it had own kitchen,and two bedrooms.It was spacious and clean,excellent location,just 10 min walk from the Danube river and in walking distance to the points of interest along the river.Definitely a very nice place for the price.

We stayed there for 2 nights in 1 dec , the place was being renovated and because of that was not very nice , only the bedrooms were heated , the other rooms were realy cold at night(dec) ,the staff vas very nice ,look for something else if you want something nice , this is not the place.

The location is perfect. In the center of Pest. The flat is Ok.

Absolutely stunning. Book in advance, just while I was checking in about 4 seperate pairs were filing in to check for vacancies and it was totally full. Really stylish interior and th best showers I have seen in years. Perhaps ever. Definitely recomend it

We liked it a lot. Situation was really good, everything was close to us and it was easy to move around. Staff spoke really good english. Room was simple and clean.

This is the ONLY place to stay in Budapest! Beautiful, clean, very comfortable and extremely friendly. Very central and easy access to transport. I cannot praise this establishment enough.
