Oberammergau – Open to the world!
Discover an enchanting village and scenic surroundings offering activities galore plus plenty of sights such as King Ludwig's famous castles. The Alpine region in which Oberammergau is situated is unique for its cultural and natural treasures.
The Youth Hostel is open to everyone, with no age limit: school classes, individuals and families, sports clubs or youth groups (but you need to be a member of a Youth Hostel Association).

It offers a modern but comfy common area with lounge seats and a flatscreen. Outside you can find swings that are fun for people of every age.

It is ideal for discovering Germany's largest contiguous landscape conservation area and the locals that live in it. In summer the little town is a hiking and mountain-biking paradise, and in winter a favourite destination for downhill and cross-country skiing.
Oberammergau itself is known all over the world for its Passion Play but is also famous for its many woodcarving workshops and painted houses.
