there was a kitchen to use. wifi is only working on the 1st floor..(shit)
Very cheap but offers a good service, the location is great, you can walk to the city center and there is an underground station nearby. Very large rooms, it is very recommended for groups of friends. Not a big deal for families with children.
I love this hostel. I felt very comfortable and safe while there, and Abdul, the receptionist made it so pleasant and easy. He always had answers for any inquiries I had regarding the hostel or the city. I plan to return for at least a night after my trip to Vienna, Austria. Thank you.
the hostel seems from a modification of school dormitory. if you go for very cheap price, you can try it but do not expect near hotel or normal hostel like service.
The room was ok but the bathroom was mixed and not that clean. There was no internet in the rooms, only in the hall. It is a little close to the metro station so it was well located.
I have stayed in this Hostel 2 summers in a row now. Last year I was a little apprehensive due to mixed reviews, but it was the cheapest place I could find in Prague. If you know what to expect it is an absolutely fine place to stay. The building is a student dormitory in old communist era style. It has a brilliant lift with no door on the inside, so you can see the wall whooshing past as you climb to your floor. This sounds dodgy but it really isn't. It adds to the experience and is safe! Reading some of the previous reviews for this hotel, it is true that it can seem a bit spooky with the long echoey corridors, but I think it adds to the character of the place. The rooms I have stayed in have been absolutely fine (private twin rooms facing onto the inner courtyard) clean, comfortable bedding. What more do you need? I am a light sleeper so things like traffic noise and noisy neighbours can keep me awake, but I've never had a problem here. I always wear ear plugs whilst travelling and have slept like a log. The location is brilliant. The district is one of the most upmarket in Prague, with gorgeous architecture and some great bars and restaurants. There is a park a five minute walk away with a particularly great open air bar with big screens and gambrinus on tap. You can take the beer out and sit on the hill which has an amazing view of the city centre at sunset. Also it's a five minute walk to the cool looking tv tower. In short I really recommend this place. 5 minute walk from the metro. Contrary to other reviews it really isn't far from the centre and it's better to be in a less touristy area as the beer and food is cheaper and the people nicer. Virtually every bar in the area sells beer from between 24 - 35 kc...
I think it is a very cheap hostel. It is near to the metro station. Obviously it is a basic one but I have appreciated it very much.
We ordered a non-smoking room, and the room we got at first was really smelly. The second room still smelled, but it was the best they could offer. Location is near the underground. Hostel could use some renovation.
...scary...
From inside it is exactly like a east block building from former sovjet time. kind of communism holiday, but really cheap, nice staff, and easy to walk to the city with a nice view over prag!
Was a good cheap hostel, showers were pretty good, but there was a huge smell in my room. Probably just the one. But I still think it was an excellent price/quality ratio.
Great location, very cheap, but not crowded (I even didn't mind common shower beacuse there was no one there), nice service. What I didn't like and bothered me a lot the fact they don't accept payment with the credit card - cash only(!!!!!) :(
rooms are acceptable but the wc`s are must be renewed there is no dryer in the laundry we pay the money outside, but we could pay u instead.lift is always problem, and there is no safe for the valuables
staff is very friendly and kind, rooms are spacious and clean, only one computer available for usage in hostel, floor bathrooms
I liked the staff, they were friendly and helpfull. The rooms were ok, big and clean enough. The (shared) shower was nice! It is close to the metro station and easy to find. In the hostel is not so much to do, but for me that was not a problem. I liked the "feel" of the hostel (little bit old and student house), but I can imagine that people feel different about this.
Just a student house that in summer becomes a hostel. Not great, just okay.
We had a very nice stay at this simple hostel. Our private room had a good size with two beds, two lockers and two tables. We enjoyed "u sadu". A pub/resturant 50m from the hostel, good and cheap food and beer.
Basically a nice and clean place, BUT with a few big minuses. First of all, the toilets and showers were without any locks. The place had also a certain feel of insecurity so showering in such an environmet is not very fun. The staff wasnt very cheerful and the place was very noisy in the night. Overall the atmosphere was very scary.
very nice hostel. Very kind staff. For the price, it is really good!
If you want a cheap place, where u can sleep, rest some, and it doesnt bother you to share the bathroom with a whole level, than it is a good place. The check-in was a bit hard, as the receptionist barely spoke english, but the check-out was very easy at 5 am. All-in-one: fair enough.
