Orient Express Hostel - Sofia, Bulgaria

Please do not list this hostel anymore through your service. I gave it the ratings I did based on my experience, but I was not actually permitted to stay there. I booked in advance and got my confirmation. When I arrived, there was no one there. Repeated calls to the manager went unanswered. After an hour, a staff member showed up who said she had no knowledge of my booking. She called the manager, who informed me that she had not checked for bookings through your website for two years. She had already rented all the rooms for the night to a large group and refused to honor my reservation. I was left to find a new accommodation in the middle of the night in a city I did not know. The manager returned my deposit and offered to call a couple of places to see if they had room, but I was obviously capable of doing that for myself. By continuing to provide bookings for an individual who does not bother to check if bookings have been made, you could endanger travelers.

Very cold in the rooms, the heating system is not working in all the rooms!

Excellent place to be for a couple of days. Short distance to city center. It is very clean. The staff will help you in any possible way to make the best of your time. I was there on Oct 2016

That is the worst hostel I have ever stayed and the worst owner and staff I have ever met. They overbooked and moved us to a different hostel and threatened us. We paid two nights and only stayed there one night. The owner is a total liar

the worst hostel We have ever had. We booked for Oriental Express, but they brought us to Internet Hostel and when we said we will leave, she began to threaten us.Since I am the only teacherand the rest 9 are students we had to stay there the night and she charged us the cash for the two nights. We could not bear anymore after the first night(the Irish bar is next door ) and wanted to move out and she did not return a penny for the second night.She is a totally liar.

The place is clean, but the neighbourhood as typical for sofia looks scary. Nevertheless its not noisy. They had overbooking and tranfered me to another hostel for my last night, close to Vitosha str. Which was a nightmare, a very loud bar 1floor lower the whole night plus erly morning very loud trams. not sure if i should recomend this. Plus they dont have common room.

Brand new rooms decorated with very good taste,air conditioned, good breakfast.

Lovely place to be in the center, very nice rooms, bathrooms and breakfast. I deffinetely recomend it.

Its a great hostel in sofia, quite small and a friendly place, excellent location in the middle of the town

A small intimate hostel of about 4 large rooms, based on the top floor of an old apartment building in a pleasant area of Sofia. It is clean, and neat, with a small kitchenette area, and two clean modern showers. The staff on the two nights we stayed there were very helpful, and made a continental breakfast in the morning. There are four beds per room, some beds are double. The hostel is right beside two 24 hour stores, two modern bars, and a very nice restaurant is across the street, and fast food joints around the corner. The area feels safe, and young. Its a perfect place for those on a budget - don't be put off by the rather forlorn looking front door!

Lovely place in the center of the city with excellent facilities.

Nice hostel in perfect location.Hot water in showers and clean rooms.TV in the room was great thing.

Good hostel if you are not staying for a long time...

Perfect place to stay in Sofia. Meters away for the Sofia's main attractions, 24H supermarket in front of the hostel, a lot of fast food restaurants, ATM. Big rooms, Good bed.

A great place in the center,clean, good filling breakfast, spacious sunny dormitory and perfect bathrooms!
