Our most horrible stay in Cuba. We had booked at the hostal Rintintin but when we arrived Mariela (the owner) said that the hostal was closed and made us stay in another “casa particular” which was much worse and very far from the city center. At the end of our stay, she asked us to pay the advance we had already made, 6 breakfasts (she told us at the beginning of the stay that it was included) and the rate of the Hostal Rintintin while the casa where we were is much cheaper. She kept yelling and literally humiliated us. We paid for everything she asked for and left. She ripped us off and I am sure she will do it again. Do not go there !
Bad welcoming, the room was not prepared and the staff was not expecting us at all, instade of chacking the booking and preparing the room the staff left for a break and left us behind...Room in the second floor between noisy restaurant downstairs and VERY noisy bar live music upstairs. We were supposed to stay for two nights, after a very bad noisy night ( music stops by midnight and not at 11 pm as said by manager, the costumers stay at the bar with lowd laughters to 1 AM), we left next day and took a diffrent casa. manager seems like she does not care...surprising attitude!!!!
We were told that one of the two rooms we'd booked was under construction at our arrival and sent us to a remote casa particular instead. When we didn't accept to stay there, they arranged another room at a very close neighbour. If that was possible, why did the owner try to send us to the other? One other thing never mentioned before was the two rooms are just below the terrace where live music is performed every night. No problem with that loud music in our room, but the noise after the performance was terrible, pulling the tables, shouting, cleaning, etc. The owner doesn't speak English and very hard to communicate. We felt they used every chance to rip us off.
Hostel cancelled our reservation without previous advice. Organized another casa just for one night even though we booked for two. Other clients had the same problem. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED!
Great location if you like to be in the middle of everything. But very noisey till 23 h. Nice room.
The Host is lovely, she took very good care of us. The Breakfast is delicious and the rooms are very clean and spacious. The location is great! We can highly recommend this place!
Very good location and nice host, just stayed there for one night so didn't experience a lot. the city is worth visiting.
Really nice stay and very warm host-family. Yummy Lobster and amazing view from terrace... Muchas gracias Mariella!!!!
