    So I am ending my stay at the Pura Vida Hostel today and it is a bittersweet occasion... I am happy to be leaving Tamarindo but I am all too aware that in my travels it will be rare if not impossible to find a hostel as inviting and comfortable as this one... It is kept reasonably clean with the proprietors and some hired help doing the major cleaning and a common effort among guests to clean up after themselves... It is quiet and safe- I loved having a security guard at night and a locked gate...with a kitchen you can cook in, as well as a shared TV and computer with internet service... The common area is so relaxing and quiet- plenty of rocking chairs and hammocks where conversations were had, beers were drank, and ultimately where friendships and entertainment among the guests blossomed... If you are looking for a raucous party-fraternity house type place-this is not it. We had a great time last night up until 2am playing games but we are always respectful to other guests who do not necessarily share our lifestyle... The walk to the beach and downtown is great- Not too far from EVERYTHING but away from the chaos and noise that can develop as the day progresses. The best part of the hostel would have to be Markus and Sarah- they are the on-site managers who really take a holistic and personal approach to running the hostel... They are very helpful with answering questions about local things and their patience and kindness in dealing with guests is so natural and genuine- it is nice as a traveler to be treated as though your stay is appreciated and that you can always be sure you will have what you need to make your visit as comfortable as is reasonably possible... My stay here was worth far more than $10 p/ night and you will not find a much better place stay in Tamarindo... unless you want to shell out bigger bucks for impersonal and profit-driven service....
